Tropicana is a globally recognized brand specializing in fruit juices. It was founded in 1947 by Anthony T. Rossi in Bradenton, Florida, USA. The brand revolutionized the industry by introducing flash pasteurization, allowing fresh juice to be shipped long distances without losing its quality.
Starting as a local Florida company, Tropicana was acquired by PepsiCo in 1998. In early 2022, PepsiCo sold a majority stake (61%) of its juice business in North America and Europe, including Tropicana, to the private equity firm PAI Partners, though PepsiCo retains a 39% minority stake. Manufacturing takes place in various regions to serve local markets, including major facilities in the United States, Belgium, and France.
