In 2013, Liberty Global acquired Virgin Media, and in 2020, Telefónica merged its UK mobile business, O2, with Virgin Media, creating Virgin Media O2. The company operates primarily in the UK, providing services to millions of customers. Virgin Media O2 is jointly owned by Liberty Global and Telefónica, with Liberty Global being headquartered in the United States and Telefónica in Spain.
