Twix is a world-renowned chocolate bar originally launched in the United Kingdom in 1967 at the Mars factory in Slough. The product was the brainchild of Forrest Mars Sr. and was initially marketed under the name 'Raider' in many European countries for several decades before the brand was unified globally under the Twix name. The name itself is a portmanteau of 'twin sticks,' referring to the classic two-bar packaging.

Today, the brand is owned by Mars, Incorporated, one of the world's largest privately held family businesses. Production is spread across various global locations to serve different markets: bars for North America are primarily manufactured in Cleveland, Tennessee, while products for the European and African markets are produced in Veghel, Netherlands. Following the company's significant acquisition of Kellanova in late 2025, Mars has further solidified its position as a global snacking powerhouse, maintaining Twix as a core billion-dollar brand within its diverse portfolio.
