Toblerone Chocolate Bar

Toblerone is a world-renowned Swiss chocolate brand recognizable by its distinctive triangular shape, representing the Matterhorn in the Swiss Alps. The brand was created in Bern, Switzerland, in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann. The name is a portmanteau of Tobler’s family name and the Italian word 'torrone', referring to a type of honey and almond nougat.

Historically, all Toblerone production was strictly located in Bern, Switzerland. However, following the brand's acquisition and the global expansion strategies of its parent company, some manufacturing has recently been offshored to plants in Slovakia. Despite this shift, most of the classic product lines still maintain their Swiss heritage. The brand is currently owned by Mondelez International, a major American multinational confectionery company that manages several historic food brands worldwide.
