Toblerone is a Swiss chocolate brand known for its distinctive triangular shape and unique blend of milk chocolate, honey, and almond nougat. It was created in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and his cousin Emil Baumann in Bern, Switzerland. The name 'Toblerone' is a combination of 'Tobler' and 'torrone,' the Italian word for nougat. In 1990, the brand was acquired by Kraft Foods, which later became Mondelez International in 2012. Production has expanded beyond Switzerland, with manufacturing now also taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia. Due to these changes, the packaging has been updated to comply with Swiss 'Swissness' laws, removing the Matterhorn image and the 'Switzerland' label. Despite these changes, Toblerone remains a popular confectionery enjoyed worldwide.
