Qwant Search Engine

Qwant is a European search engine launched in France in 2013, designed with a focus on user privacy and the non-personalization of search results. Unlike many international search engines, it does not track its users or utilize cookies for behavioral profiling, positioning itself as a secure alternative in the digital space.

The service was originally founded by Jean-Manuel Rozan, Éric Leandri, and Patrick Constant. Over the years, it has received significant investment from various European entities. As of late 2023 and into the foreseeable future, Qwant has undergone structural changes including a merger with Ecosia under a joint venture project named European Search Perspectives (EUSP) to build an independent search index, though the brand remains deeply rooted in French and European digital sovereignty.
