Espresso House is a Swedish coffeehouse chain founded in 1996 by Elisabet and Charles Asker in Lund, Sweden. It has grown to become the largest coffeehouse chain in the Nordic countries, with over 500 locations across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Germany. In 2015, Espresso House was acquired by JAB Holding Company, a German private equity firm specializing in the coffee and beverage industry. JAB Holding Company also owns other coffee brands such as Keurig Dr Pepper, Panera Bread, and Krispy Kreme. Espresso House operates its own bakery in Malmö, Sweden, where all bread and pastries served in its cafes are baked. The company is known for its cozy and welcoming atmosphere, offering a variety of coffee beverages, pastries, and light meals. As of April 2023, Espresso House has over 510 locations across the Nordic countries and Germany.
