The Toniebox is a screen-free audio player designed for children, allowing them to listen to stories and music by placing figurines called 'Tonies' on top of the device. The concept was developed in 2013 by German entrepreneurs Patric Faßbender and Marcus Stahl, leading to the founding of Boxine GmbH. The first Toniebox was launched in 2016, and the company expanded internationally, including a U.S. debut in 2020. In 2023, Boxine GmbH was rebranded as Tonies SE, a publicly traded company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The Toniebox is manufactured in multiple countries, including China, Hungary, Tunisia, and China. The brand is known for its innovative approach to children's audio entertainment, combining physical figurines with digital content to create an engaging, screen-free experience for young listeners.
