Skechers is a prominent American lifestyle and performance footwear company headquartered in Manhattan Beach, California. Founded in 1992 by Robert Greenberg, who had previously founded LA Gear, the brand quickly established itself by focusing on the casual athletic shoe market. Originally, the brand's first products were utility-style boots and skate shoes, but it has since expanded to include a vast array of athletic, casual, and performance styles for men, women, and children.

The brand is globally recognized for its emphasis on comfort technology, such as Memory Foam and Arch Fit systems. While the design and corporate leadership remain in the United States, manufacturing is primarily outsourced to major production hubs in Asia, specifically Vietnam and China, to support its massive international distribution network. Skechers remains an independent, publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange, continuing to operate under the leadership of the Greenberg family.
