Palmolive is one of the most recognizable household brands in the world, tracing its roots back to 1864 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The brand became a global household name following the launch of its signature bar soap in 1898, which was formulated from palm and olive oils. This iconic combination gave the brand its name and helped it become the best-selling soap worldwide by the early 20th century.

Over the decades, Palmolive underwent significant corporate shifts, including a major merger with the Peet Brothers in 1926 and a subsequent merger with the Colgate Company in 1928 to form the Colgate-Palmolive-Peet Company. In 1953, the name was simplified to Colgate-Palmolive. Today, the brand encompasses a wide range of personal care and dishwashing products. Manufacturing occurs in dozens of facilities globally, with major production sites in the United States, Mexico, Europe, and Asia to serve regional markets.
