Schweppes American Ginger Ale

Schweppes is one of the world's most historic beverage brands, founded in 1783 in Geneva by Johann Jacob Schweppe, a German watchmaker. He developed the first industrial process for carbonating water, which eventually led to the modern soft drink industry. In 1792, Schweppe moved his operations to London, where the brand truly flourished and was later granted a Royal Warrant by the British monarchy.

Today, the brand operates under a complex global ownership structure. In Germany and much of Western and Central Europe, the Schweppes brand is owned by Schweppes International Limited, a subsidiary of the Japanese beverage giant Suntory Group. However, the physical production and distribution within Germany are handled by local bottling partners, primarily the Krombacher Group, which holds the long-term licensing rights for the German and Austrian markets. This particular product, American Ginger Ale, is manufactured in Germany at local facilities to serve the domestic market, following the specific recipe and standards maintained by the Suntory-owned brand entity.
