Polly is a flagship Swedish confectionery brand known for its unique chocolate-coated foam drops. Originally launched in 1965 by the confectionery company Cloetta, the product features a soft, chewy marshmallow-like center flavored with arrack, butter toffee, and vanilla.
The brand's roots trace back to 1862, when Swiss brothers Christoph, Nutin, and Bernard Cloëtta established a chocolate factory in Copenhagen, Denmark, before expanding into Sweden. Today, Polly is manufactured at Cloetta's primary production facility in Ljungsbro, Sweden.
Cloetta AB is currently a publicly traded company on the Nasdaq Stockholm. While the brand remains quintessentially Swedish in identity, its ownership is distributed among institutional and retail investors, with the Svenfelt family (via Malfors Promotor) historically maintaining a significant long-term stake.
