Elgato, a name synonymous with high-quality content creation tools, originally began as a brand under the German company Elgato Systems. The Stream Deck was first introduced in 2017 and quickly became an essential tool for live streamers and video editors by providing a tactile interface with LCD keys that can be programmed to perform various software functions.
In 2018, the gaming and enthusiast division of Elgato Systems was acquired by Corsair Gaming, Inc., a prominent American computer peripherals and hardware company. Since then, Elgato has operated as a specialized brand within the Corsair portfolio. While the brand was conceived and developed in Germany, the manufacturing of the Stream Deck hardware predominantly takes place in Taiwan, which is a global hub for sophisticated electronics production.
Today, Elgato continues to innovate in the streaming and creative space, benefiting from the global distribution and manufacturing resources of its American parent company, Corsair. The brand remains headquartered in Munich, Germany, maintaining its original engineering and design spirit under the broader corporate umbrella of Corsair Gaming.
