Knorr is one of the world's most recognizable food brands, originally founded in Heilbronn, Germany, by Carl Heinrich Knorr in 1838. He pioneered experiments in drying vegetables and seasonings to preserve nutrients and flavor, which led to the first Knorr dried soups in 1873. Today, the Knorr brand is a cornerstone of the global food industry, providing a wide range of bouillons, soups, and seasonings found in kitchens across the globe.
While Knorr began as a German national brand, it has been owned by the British multinational Unilever since 2000. Unilever is one of the largest consumer goods companies in the world, managing Knorr as its biggest brand. Products are manufactured in numerous facilities worldwide to cater to local market tastes and logistics; however, a significant portion of the European supply, including specialized bouillons like the one pictured, continues to be produced in European facilities in countries like Germany and Switzerland.
