Corona is one of the world's most recognizable beer brands, synonymous with its clear glass bottle and lime ritual. Originally created in 1925 by Cervecería Modelo in Mexico City, Mexico, the brand was developed to celebrate the brewery's tenth anniversary. Its crisp, pale lager characteristics quickly made it a domestic favorite before it expanded into the international market.

The manufacturing and distribution of Corona are governed by complex international trade agreements. While most Corona beer consumed globally is still produced in major breweries across Mexico, production for certain international markets—specifically within Europe—has expanded to other facilities. This ensures freshness and reduces the carbon footprint associated with long-distance logistics.

Ownership of the Corona brand is split geographically. Globally, excluding the United States, the brand is owned by Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world's largest brewing company headquartered in Belgium. However, due to antitrust regulations in the United States, the rights to manufacture and sell Corona within the American market are owned by Constellation Brands, ensuring a competitive marketplace in the North American beer industry.
