The brand was founded in Switzerland in 1930 when Hans Thomi of the Thomi + Franck AG launched the first mustard in a tube. While the brand has Swiss heritage, it was acquired by the global food conglomerate Nestlé in 1971. Today, manufacturing for the European market occurs in several locations, with a major production hub located in Germany (Neuss).
