Lafuma Jacket

Lafuma is a historic French brand specialized in outdoor equipment and clothing. Founded in 1930 by the Lafuma brothers in Anneyron, France, the brand initially gained fame through the invention of the metal-frame backpack. Over nearly a century, it has expanded its expertise to encompass technical apparel, footwear, and camping furniture tailored for hiking and mountain sports.

While the brand's creative design and original heritage are firmly rooted in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, most of its textile manufacturing, including the jacket shown in the image, is carried out in specialized factories in Asia, specifically Vietnam. Ownership of the brand has transitioned through major groups; today, Lafuma is part of the Millet Mountain Group, which is owned by the Swiss-based Inspiring Sport Group (Jean-Pierre Millet and Inspiring Sport Capital), maintaining its status as a prominent European name in the outdoor industry.
