Haribo Goldbären, commonly known as Goldbears, are the world's most iconic gummy bear candies. The brand was founded in 1920 by Hans Riegel in Bonn, Germany, and the legendary Goldbears were first introduced in 1922. The name Haribo is an acronym for Hans Riegel Bonn.
Today, Haribo remains a family-owned business, controlled by the Riegel family through Haribo Holding GmbH & Co. KG. While the company is headquartered in Grafschaft, Germany, it has expanded its manufacturing footprint significantly. Production now takes place across multiple facilities in Germany, as well as in other European countries and the United States, to satisfy global demand. The brand's famous slogan, 'Haribo makes kids happy – and adults too,' remains a central part of its global identity.
