Lipton Tea

Lipton is one of the world's most recognizable tea brands, with a history dating back to late 19th-century Scotland. It was founded by Sir Thomas Lipton, who sought to make tea an affordable and accessible beverage for the general public. By purchasing his own tea estates in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), he bypassed traditional middlemen and revolutionized the industry through standardized packaging and direct marketing.

For many decades, Lipton was a flagship brand of the multinational giant Unilever. However, in a major strategic shift completed in 2022, Unilever sold the majority of its tea business to a newly formed independent entity. Today, the brand is owned and managed by Liptea (formerly known as Ekaterra), which maintains a global network of production facilities to serve different regional markets. While its heritage is British, its manufacturing is decentralized, occurring in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa to ensure freshness and meet local taste profiles.
