Ambrosia is a historic British brand, famously associated with its Devon heritage. Its origins date back to 1917 when Alfred Morris founded the Ambrosia Creamery in Lifton, Devon. Initially established to produce dried milk for infants, the brand pivoted toward its now-iconic creamed rice pudding and custard. The "Deluxe" range represents a premium tier of these traditional dairy desserts, marketed for their extra creaminess and the inclusion of high-quality ingredients like West Country cream.

Since its founding, the brand has passed through several corporate hands, including Bovril, Beecham, and Unilever. In 2004, it was acquired by Premier Foods, a leading UK food manufacturer. Today, Ambrosia remains a core part of Premier Foods' portfolio. All ambient Ambrosia products, including the Deluxe Custard seen in the image, continue to be manufactured at the original site in Lifton, Devon, adhering to the brand’s longstanding slogan: "Devon knows how they make it so creamy."
