Lotus Biscoff Cookies

Lotus Biscoff is a world-renowned caramelized biscuit brand with a history dating back to 1932. Originally known as 'speculoos' in its home country of Belgium, the cookie was rebranded as 'Biscoff' (a combination of 'Biscuit' and 'Coffee') to appeal to international markets, particularly in North America where it gained cult status as an in-flight snack.

The brand's production is deeply rooted in its original home of Lembeke, Belgium. However, to meet surging global demand, Lotus Bakeries expanded its manufacturing footprint. In 2019, it opened its first production facility outside of Europe in Mebane, North Carolina, USA. Further global expansion continued with the construction of a third Biscoff facility in Thailand, which became operational around 2026.

Despite its global scale and listing on the Euronext Brussels stock exchange, Lotus Bakeries remains a family-controlled enterprise. The Boone and Stevens families maintain a majority stake, ensuring the original craftsmanship and recipe are preserved even as they partner with global giants like Mondelēz International for distribution in specific markets like India.
