Coppertone is an American brand of sunscreen products, originally developed by Merck & Co. in the 1940s. In 2014, Beiersdorf AG, a German multinational company, acquired Coppertone from Merck & Co. Coppertone is now marketed in the U.S. under the NIVEA brand, which is also owned by Beiersdorf AG.
