Neutrogena is a globally recognized skincare brand that originated in the United States. It was founded in 1930 by Emanuel Stolaroff and originally known as Natone. The brand's fame grew significantly with the introduction of its unique clear soap bar, which was inspired by a formula discovered in Belgium.

Today, the brand is widely known for its 'Norwegian Formula,' which, despite its name, was developed in Los Angeles after being inspired by the protective hand balms used by Norwegian fishermen. While the brand has American roots, its products for the European market are often manufactured in France or Greece. Neutrogena is currently owned by Kenvue, a dedicated consumer health company that was spun off from Johnson & Johnson in 2023.
