Taffel Original Potato Chips

Taffel is a Finnish heritage brand that pioneered the potato chip industry in Finland. It was established in 1969 by Ab Chips Oy Ltd on the Åland Islands, specifically in Haraldsby. The very first product launched was the plain salted 'Taffel Chips,' which eventually became known as Taffel Original. Over the decades, the brand expanded from its Finnish roots to become a dominant player across Scandinavia and the Baltic states.

Today, Taffel products are primarily manufactured at the original factory in Haraldsby, Åland (Finland), and at a large production facility in Ādaži, Latvia. In 2005, the brand's parent company, Chips Abp, was fully acquired by the Norwegian conglomerate Orkla ASA. The brand is now managed under the Orkla Confectionery & Snacks division, specifically by Orkla Suomi in Finland, maintaining its status as one of Northern Europe's most popular snack brands.
