Sun-Pat is a heritage British brand that has established itself as the United Kingdom's leading peanut butter brand. Originally launched in the 1940s, the brand became synonymous with high-quality spreads and gained significant market dominance through catchy advertising and consistent product quality. Today, Sun-Pat is highly recognizable by its vibrant yellow lids and red labeling.
The product is primarily manufactured within the United Kingdom to ensure freshness and meet local supply chain demands. Ownership of the brand has transitioned through several major food conglomerates over the decades. It was famously owned by RHM (Rank Hovis McDougall) and later passed to Premier Foods. In 2012, as part of a strategic divestment of its sweet and savory spreads business, Premier Foods sold the Sun-Pat brand to the American multinational Hain Celestial Group.
Hain Celestial, headquartered in the United States, focuses on natural and organic products. Through its UK subsidiary, Hain Daniels Group, the company manages the production and distribution of Sun-Pat alongside other classic British brands like Hartley’s and Robertson’s, maintaining the brand's British identity while under American corporate ownership.
