The cooperative was established in 1912 and is renowned for its high-quality raisins and other dried fruits. The grapes used for Sun-Maid raisins are cultivated in California's Central Valley, a region celebrated for its optimal grape-growing climate. Sun-Maid's products are distributed across the United States and exported to over 60 countries, with annual production exceeding 200 million pounds of natural raisins. In addition to raisins, the cooperative offers a diverse range of dried fruits, including figs, dates, cranberries, apples, prunes, apricots, and tropical fruits. The cooperative operates under the ownership of its member growers, with no external parent company or subsidiary ownership.
