Tullamore D.E.W. is a legendary brand of Irish whiskey, widely recognized for its iconic 'triple distilled, triple blend, triple matured' process. The brand was originally established in 1829 in the town of Tullamore, County Offaly, Ireland. Its namesake, Daniel E. Williams (D.E.W.), worked his way up from a stable boy to the manager and eventually the owner of the distillery, introducing the initials that are now synonymous with the brand.
While the original distillery closed in 1954 and production moved to Midleton for a period, the brand underwent a significant transformation after being acquired by the Scottish family-owned company William Grant & Sons. In 2014, a state-of-the-art distillery was opened back in Tullamore, returning production to its ancestral home. Today, the whiskey is distilled and matured in Ireland, maintaining its heritage and status as the world's second largest selling brand of Irish whiskey.
