Havana Club is one of the most iconic rum brands globally, deeply rooted in Cuban heritage. Originally established in Cárdenas, Cuba, in 1934 by José Arechabala, the brand became a symbol of Cuban craftsmanship. Following the Cuban Revolution, the company was nationalized, leading to a complex history of ownership and international legal disputes. Today, the authentic Cuban Havana Club is produced through a joint venture between the state-owned Corporación Cuba Ron and the French spirits giant Pernod Ricard. All 'Havana Club' rum distributed by this joint venture is exclusively distilled, aged, and bottled in Cuba, utilizing local sugarcane and traditional techniques overseen by the Maestros del Ron Cubano. This particular 7-year-old expression is celebrated for its complexity and rich mahogany color, achieved through natural aging in white oak barrels.
