Sinalco is a historic German soft drink brand, famously recognized as the oldest soft drink brand in continental Europe. Founded in 1902 by the scientist Friedrich Eduard Bilz and industrialist Franz Hartmann, it was originally named 'Bilz-Brause' before being renamed to Sinalco in 1905, derived from the Latin phrase 'sine alcohole' (without alcohol).
The brand became iconic for its red circle logo and its distinctive bottle shape. Today, Sinalco remains a prominent German brand with a global footprint, particularly in the Middle East and parts of Europe, where it is produced under various franchise licenses. The ultimate ownership of the international brand rights belongs to the Hövelmann family, specifically through Sinalco International GmbH & Co. KG.
