Hacker-Pschorr is one of Munich's most historic breweries, with roots dating back to 1417. The brand represents the merger of the Hacker and Pschorr breweries in 1972, two entities once owned by members of the same family. It is famous for being one of the six traditional breweries allowed to serve beer at the Munich Oktoberfest.
Today, the beer is brewed in Munich according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Since the late 20th century, the brewery has been part of the Paulaner Brewery Group. This group is a joint venture between the Schörghuber Corporate Group and Heineken N.V., ensuring both deep local Bavarian roots and a global distribution network.
