Toblerone Swiss Milk Chocolate

Toblerone is a world-renowned Swiss chocolate brand famous for its unique triangular shape, which was inspired by the Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps. Created in 1908 by Theodor Tobler and Emil Baumann in Bern, Switzerland, the chocolate is recognized for its blend of milk chocolate, nougat, almonds, and honey.

Historically, all Toblerone production took place at the brand's original factory in Bern. However, following the brand's acquisition by the American multinational Mondelēz International, some production was shifted to Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2023. This change in manufacturing location meant that the brand could no longer use the 'Swiss Made' label or the Matterhorn image on its packaging due to strict Swissness legislation. Despite these logistical changes, the brand remains a global icon in the confectionery market under its American ownership.
