Merrild Coffee

Merrild is a classic Danish coffee brand founded in 1964 by Møller Merrild in Fredericia, Denmark. Originally starting as a small local roastery, the brand quickly became one of the most popular coffee choices in Denmark and across the Nordic region, known for its high-quality beans and balanced flavor profiles.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership has transitioned through several major corporate hands. It was notably owned by the American conglomerate Sara Lee, and later became part of D.E Master Blenders 1753. Since 2015, the brand has been under the ownership of the Italian coffee giant Luigi Lavazza S.p.A. While the brand maintains its strong Danish identity and heritage, the coffee itself is sourced globally and manufactured in modern facilities across Europe to serve different markets.
