Marabou is a Swedish chocolate brand established in 1916 by Johan Throne Holst, who also founded the Norwegian chocolate company Freia. The name 'Marabou' was chosen due to the Marabou stork being the trademark of Freia. In 1993, Kraft Foods (now Mondelez International) acquired Marabou, making it a subsidiary of the American company. Marabou's Cookies & Cream Chocolate Bar is produced in multiple countries, including Sweden and other locations, to meet global demand.
