Discover where a brand or product originates
Neutrogena is a widely recognized brand in the skincare industry, famous for its 'Norwegian Formula'. Despite the name and the Norwegian flag often seen on the packaging, the brand originated in the United States. It was founded by Emanuel Stolaroff in 1930 as a specialty cosmetic company named Natone. The iconic 'Norwegian Formula' was inspired by the heavy-duty hand protection used by Arctic fishermen, which Stolaroff discovered during his travels.
Starting in 2023, Neutrogena became part of Kenvue, a dedicated consumer health company that was spun off from Johnson & Johnson. While the brand has global heritage, its products sold in Europe are typically manufactured in European facilities to ensure quality and meet regional regulations. Today, Neutrogena continues to focus on dermatologist-recommended solutions for diverse skin concerns.
