Coolblue is one of the largest and most well-known e-commerce and omnichannel retailers in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Founded in 1999 by Pieter Zwart, Paul de Jong, and Bart Kuijpers, the company started out operating separate specialized webshops before consolidating under the unified Coolblue brand.

Headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Coolblue operates both a prominent online storefront and physical retail stores, alongside its own delivery and installation infrastructure (CoolblueBezorgt) and energy services (Coolblue Energie). As a retailer and service provider rather than a standalone manufacturer, Coolblue primarily distributes third-party consumer electronics, white goods, and household appliances, while also offering select private-label products (such as BlueBuilt accessories) manufactured via partner facilities across multiple international regions.

The ultimate ownership of Coolblue Holding B.V. is shared between Dutch investment company HAL Investments (holding approximately 49% of shares) and CEO/co-founder Pieter Zwart along with original leadership management who retain the majority stake.
