Skittles Original Candy

Skittles is one of the world's most recognizable bite-sized fruit candy brands, famous for its rainbow-themed marketing and 'Taste the Rainbow' slogan. Originally introduced in the United Kingdom in 1974 by a British confectionery manufacturer, the product expanded to North America in 1979 before domestic production in the United States began in the early 1980s.

The brand was produced by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, which was acquired by Mars, Incorporated in 2008. In 2016, Mars consolidated Wrigley and chocolate segments into Mars Wrigley Confectionery.

Today, Skittles sold in the Canadian market are distributed by Mars Wrigley Confectionery Canada and are primarily manufactured in the United States (notably at Mars facilities such as Yorkville, Illinois) as well as across Mars' global network of confectionery plants.
