Founded in 2013 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Fairphone aims to create fairer electronics by using recycled and ethically sourced materials, ensuring fair labor standards, and designing products that users can easily repair themselves. Although Fairphone designs and engineers its audio products in Europe and remains headquartered in Amsterdam, manufacturing and final assembly are carried out by partner facilities in China that adhere to Fairphone's strict supply-chain and fair-wage accountability standards.
