Bamba Peanut Snack

Bamba is a popular puffed peanut snack originally created in Israel by the food company Osem in 1964. Although initially launched with a cheese flavor, it achieved iconic status once reintroduced as a peanut-flavored snack, becoming one of Israel's most well-known household food staples.

In Spain and other European markets, Bamba is imported and distributed through specialty, kosher, and international food retailers, as well as select mainstream supermarket chains. The snack is manufactured primarily at Osem's state-of-the-art production facility in Kiryat Gat, Israel.

Corporate ownership of Osem transitioned over several decades to Swiss multinational food and beverage giant Nestlé S.A. Nestlé acquired an initial minority stake in Osem in the 1990s and completed a full takeover in 2016, making Osem a wholly owned subsidiary of Nestlé headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. Note: In Spain, 'bamba' is also a generic colloquial term for athletic sneakers or a regional pastry (bamba de nata), but as a packaged branded food product, it refers to the internationally distributed Osem peanut snack.
