Acne Studios Clothing and Accessories

Acne Studios is a globally recognized multidisciplinary luxury fashion house founded in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1996 by Jonny Johansson, Tomas Skoging, Jesper Kouthoofd, and Mats Johansson. Originally started as part of the creative collective ACNE (an acronym for 'Ambition to Create Novel Expressions'), the fashion arm gained breakthrough attention through its unisex raw denim jeans with distinctive red stitching. It subsequently spun off into an independent ready-to-wear label renowned for minimalist, avant-garde Scandinavian aesthetics.

Today, Acne Studios operates internationally with high-end boutiques across major fashion capitals, including flagship stores in London and other premier shopping destinations throughout the United Kingdom. In 2018, European private equity firm IDG Capital partnered with luxury investment firm I.T Group to acquire a minority stake in Acne Studios, while founders Jonny Johansson and Mikael Schiller retained the controlling majority ownership through Acne Studios Holding AB.

Acne Studios manufactures its apparel, footwear, knitwear, and leather goods across a global network of specialized suppliers. Production primarily takes place in European countries renowned for luxury craftsmanship, such as Italy, Portugal, and Romania, as well as select certified production facilities in China, Turkey, and Lithuania depending on the garment or accessory type. Note that despite sharing the word 'Acne', the brand is completely unrelated to pharmaceutical skin care products or cosmetic acne treatment brands.
