Brand Origin and History

La Fageda is a unique social cooperative founded in 1982 by psychologist Cristóbal Colón in Santa Pau, within the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park in Catalonia, Spain. The initiative began as a therapeutic and social project aimed at integrating people with intellectual disabilities and mental illnesses into meaningful work.

Production and Operations

All dairy products, including this natural yogurt, are produced at La Fageda's farm and production facility located in Mas Els Casals, Santa Pau (Girona, Spain). The cooperative handles everything locally, from raising dairy cows to processing milk, packaging, and distribution across Catalonia and other parts of Spain.

Ownership

La Fageda operates as a social initiative cooperative (Fundació Privada La Fageda / La Fageda Fundació). It remains an independent non-profit foundation and cooperative governed locally in Catalonia, with no external corporate parent company.
