MG Hector SUV

The MG Hector is a mid-size crossover SUV introduced by MG Motor India, a subsidiary of the British-heritage automotive brand MG (Morris Garages). Built primarily for the Indian market at the Halol manufacturing plant in Gujarat, India, the vehicle is based on the Baojun 530 developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling.

While the historic MG brand was founded in Oxford, United Kingdom in the 1920s by Cecil Kimber, the marque's assets were acquired by Nanjing Automobile Corporation in 2005, which merged into SAIC Motor Corporation Limited in 2007. Although the Hector model itself was primarily engineered and manufactured in India for emerging Asian markets rather than direct retail in the UK, the MG badge under which it is sold operates as a global automotive marque owned by Shanghai-based SAIC Motor.
