Brand Origin and History

Damm was founded in 1876 in Barcelona, Spain, by August Küntzmann Damm and Joseph Damm, immigrants from Alsace who arrived following the Franco-Prussian War. They set up a brewery dedicated to crafting beers suited to the Mediterranean climate. Over the course of more than a century, Damm has expanded into one of the most prominent brewing companies in Spain, renowned for flagship labels like Estrella Damm as well as specialty craft-style offerings like Complot IPA.

Damm Complot IPA is brewed and bottled in Spain, primarily at Damm's flagship brewing facilities in El Prat de Llobregat (Barcelona) and with Mediterranean hops cultivated in Prades (Tarragona, Catalonia). The product uses 100% natural Mediterranean ingredients.

The brand belongs to Sociedad Anónima Damm (Damm S.A.), an independent Spanish brewing and beverage conglomerate headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. The company is primarily controlled by the Carceller family (via Corporación Económica Delta / Disa Group) alongside other minority partners.
