Hershey's Almond Joy candy bar

Almond Joy is a popular American candy bar consisting of sweetened shredded coconut topped with whole almonds and coated in milk chocolate. It was first introduced to the market in 1946 by the Peter Paul Candy Manufacturing Company. The brand is famously associated with its sister product, Mounds, which features dark chocolate and lacks the almonds found in Almond Joy.

Historically, the brand was part of the Peter Paul company until it merged with Cadbury Schweppes in 1978. In 1988, The Hershey Company acquired the U.S. operations of Cadbury Schweppes, which included the Almond Joy and Mounds brands. Today, Hershey continues to own and produce the candy bar, primarily at its manufacturing facilities in the United States, maintaining its status as a staple in the North American confectionery market.
