Moskovskaya Osobaya Vodka

Moskovskaya Osobaya is one of the oldest and most iconic Russian vodka brands, with its origins tracing back to the Russian Empire in the late 19th century. The 'Osobaya' (Special) recipe was officially standardized in 1894 by the Russian state vodka monopoly. For decades, it was one of the primary export vodkas of the Soviet Union, known for its distinctive green label and high purity.

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, ownership of the brand became the subject of intense international legal disputes. Today, the international rights to the brand are owned by the Amber Beverage Group, which is headquartered in Luxembourg and part of the SPI Group. To distance itself from geopolitical issues, the Moskovskaya sold in most international markets is produced and bottled at the Latvijas Balzams distillery in Riga, Latvia, using traditional methods but exclusively European ingredients and manufacturing processes.
