Balter Black Lager

Balter Brewing Company was founded in 2016 in Currumbin, Queensland, Australia, by a group of childhood friends including high-profile professional surfers Mick Fanning and Joel Parkinson. The brand quickly gained a reputation for high-quality craft beers and a laid-back Australian lifestyle aesthetic, represented by its signature 'smile' logo and the tagline 'With enjoyment.'

Following its rapid success in the craft beer market, Balter was acquired by Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) in 2019. Through this acquisition, it became part of a larger corporate structure. Today, the ultimate owner of the brand is the Japanese beverage giant Asahi Group Holdings, which acquired CUB in 2020. Despite this international ownership, Balter continues to brew its core range of products primarily at its original facility in Queensland, maintaining its roots as a staple of the Australian craft brewing scene.
