The name 'EGO' is an acronym derived from the founders' initials. The studio became famous for its high-quality stoneware, often featuring organic shapes and distinctive earthy glazes.

Manufacturing was exclusively based in Sweden throughout the company's active years, specifically in Lidköping. The products are characterized by their handcrafted nature and artist signatures, making them popular collectibles today. While the original workshop is no longer in operation as a large-scale manufacturer, the brand remains a significant part of Swedish mid-century ceramic history.
