Stone & Wood Pacific Ale is a cornerstone of the Australian craft beer scene, originally launched in 2008 in Byron Bay, New South Wales. The brand was founded by Jamie Cook, Brad Rogers, and Ross Jurisich, who aimed to create a 'village brewery' that reflected the laid-back lifestyle of the Northern Rivers region. Their flagship Pacific Ale, characterized by the use of Australian Galaxy hops, played a significant role in defining a new style of tropical, easy-drinking Australian pale ale.

While the brand maintains its 'spiritual home' and a microbrewery in Byron Bay, the vast majority of its production takes place at its larger facility in Murwillumbah, New South Wales. This site has undergone significant expansions to keep up with national demand. In late 2021, the parent company, Fermentum Group, was acquired by Lion, a major beverage company. This acquisition integrated Stone & Wood into a global portfolio while maintaining local manufacturing operations in Australia to preserve the brand's regional identity and quality standards.
