Ferrarelle sparking mineral water

Ferrarelle is one of Italy's most iconic beverage brands, recognized for its naturally effervescent mineral water. The water originates from the subterranean springs of the Roccamonfina volcano in the Caserta province of Campania. Unlike many sparkling waters that have carbon dioxide added industrially, Ferrarelle's bubbles are created by nature as the water flows through underground volcanic strata, a process that takes about 30 years.

The brand was officially founded in 1893, and its extraction and bottling processes remain strictly located in Riardo, Italy. Over the years, the brand has transitioned through various ownership structures, including a notable period under the French Danone Group. However, in 2005, the brand returned to Italian hands and is currently owned by Ferrarelle Società Benefit (formerly Ferrarelle SpA). The company is highly regarded for its commitment to environmental sustainability, operating its own PET recycling plant to manage its plastic footprint.
