Kia Stinger sports sedan

The Kia Stinger is a high-performance executive sports sedan that represented a significant shift for the Kia brand into the luxury enthusiast market. Introduced in 2017, the model was designed by Gregory Guillaume and Peter Schreyer at Kia's European design studio in Frankfurt and underwent extensive performance testing at the Nürburgring. Although the Stinger was officially discontinued globally in 2023, it remains a flagship icon for the brand's engineering capabilities.

While the brand originated in South Korea, the Stinger was primarily manufactured at Kia’s Sohari Plant in Gwangmyeong, South Korea, for international markets. Kia itself is part of the Hyundai Motor Group, a massive South Korean multinational conglomerate. Despite being under the same corporate umbrella as Hyundai, Kia maintains its own distinct brand identity and global distribution network, which in Germany is managed by Kia Deutschland GmbH.
