Mexx is a global fashion brand that originated in the Netherlands in 1986. The brand was famously created by Rattan Chadha through the merger of two existing brands: Moustache (for men) and Emanuelle (for women), with the name 'Mexx' representing the first letters of each brand followed by 'XX' for two kisses.

Starting as a local Dutch brand, it quickly expanded into an international lifestyle label covering apparel, accessories, and fragrances. Over the decades, the brand's ownership has transitioned through several hands, including Liz Claiborne and private equity firms. Since 2017, the brand has been under the ownership of RNWBL (formerly RNF Holding), a Netherlands-based group that has focused on revitalizing the brand's presence in Europe and beyond. Manufacturing is typically outsourced to a variety of global production hubs specializing in textiles.
