Wettex sponge cloth

Wettex is the original sponge cloth, invented in 1949 by the Swedish engineer Curt Lindquist. It is a highly absorbent cleaning tool made from a blend of natural cellulose and cotton. The brand name itself is a portmanteau of 'wet' and 'textile'.

Since its invention, Wettex has remained a staple in household hygiene worldwide. Today, the product is primarily manufactured in Norrköping, Sweden, ensuring high quality and environmental standards. The brand and manufacturing facilities are owned by the Freudenberg Group, a global technology group based in Germany, which manages Wettex through its Housewares division.
